What does Beacons cost?

Nathan Field Nathan Field·Founder, Stakk · 5 October 2026 · 7 min read

Beacons costs $0, $10, $30 or $100 a month, or $100, $300 and $900 a year on the three paid plans. The Free and $10 Creator plans also take 9% of every sale, Creator Plus and Creator Max take 0%, and Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 or PayPal's own rate comes off every sale on all four. So a $20 sale on the free plan costs $2.68 before the monthly fee question even starts. Checked 30 September 2026.

There are two prices on Beacons, and most comparisons only quote one of them. The subscription is the number on the pricing page. The transaction fee is the number that comes off each sale. Which plan is cheapest depends entirely on how much you sell.

How much does each Beacons plan cost?

Four plans, three of them paid, with yearly billing sold as two months free.

Plan Monthly Billed yearly Cut on a sale
Free$0$09%
Creator$10$100 a year9%
Creator Plus$30$300 a year0%
Creator Max$100$900 a year0%
Stakk, for comparisonNoneNone10% + $0.50, processing included

One figure is moving. Beacons' pricing page puts Creator Max at $100 a month today, while its plan guide in the help center still says $90. Both agree on $900 a year. I have used the pricing page, and if Max is the plan you want, check the number on the page at the moment you buy.

What does Beacons take from each sale?

Nine percent on Free and Creator, nothing on Creator Plus and Creator Max. Beacons' transaction fee article sets it out in one line, and the plan guide adds one exception: on Creator, invoices are 0% even though other sales are 9%. The pricing page applies the same 9% to affiliate links on the two cheaper plans, and Creator Plus is where you keep 100% of affiliate commissions.

Card processing is separate and never goes away. You connect your own Stripe and PayPal accounts, and Beacons quotes Stripe at 2.9% + $0.30 a transaction and PayPal at 3.49% plus a fixed fee that depends on the currency. So the 0% plans are 0% to Beacons, not 0% in total.

$2.68
What comes off a $20 card sale on Beacons' free plan: $1.80 to Beacons at 9%, and $0.88 to Stripe at 2.9% + $0.30. The same sale on the $10 Creator plan costs exactly the same.

Our own arithmetic on Beacons' published rates. PayPal sales cost more to process, and the fixed part of PayPal's fee depends on the currency, so they are left out.

What does the $10 Creator plan actually get you?

Tools, not a lower fee. Creator keeps the 9% cut, so on the transaction side it costs exactly what Free does, plus $10. Beacons' own fee article carries an FAQ for exactly this: a creator asking why 9% came out of their first sale after they had paid for a plan.

What the $10 does buy is a custom domain, which the plan guide says is free for your first year only, plus custom domain product URLs, 300 daily AI credits against 30 on Free, 500 email sends a month against 50, email automations and advanced SEO settings. If those are what you need, it is a fair price for them. If you upgraded to sell more cheaply, it does nothing.

When does Creator Plus pay for itself?

At about $333 of sales a month, compared with staying on Free. Creator Plus costs $30 and removes a 9% cut, and 9% of $333 is $30. Billed yearly at $300, which works out to $25 a month, the line drops to about $278.

Below that line, Free is cheaper. Above it, every extra dollar of sales makes Creator Plus the better deal, and it also brings the most useful selling tools Beacons has: buy now pay later through Klarna or Affirm, memberships, unlimited courses with video hosting, unlimited email sends, removing the Beacons branding, and order bumps at checkout, which we went into in whether Beacons has order bumps.

If you are nowhere near $333 a month and the 9% is what bothers you, the Beacons alternatives breakdown covers what else takes a smaller cut without a subscription.

What else changes between the plans?

More than the fee, and some of it matters if you sell.

  • Courses. Free and Creator allow one course with no video hosting. Creator Plus and Creator Max allow unlimited courses with video hosting.
  • Email. 50 sends a month on Free, 500 on Creator, unlimited from Creator Plus up. Automation sequences go from 5 to 20.
  • AI credits. 30 a day on Free, 300 on Creator, unlimited from Creator Plus up.
  • Support. The pricing page promises a reply within 48 hours on Free, 24 on Creator, 12 on Creator Plus and 6 on Creator Max.
  • Creator Max extras. Google Workspace, white glove onboarding, a physical NFC card that opens your page, and access to Beacons events. None of it changes the fee, which is already 0% on Creator Plus.

Is Beacons cheaper than Stakk?

On the free plan, no. A $20 sale costs $2.68 on Beacons Free or Creator and $2.50 on Stakk, card processing included in ours. The gap is small, and it runs the same way at any price above about $10.50. Below that, Beacons' free plan is the cheaper of the two, because our $0.50 is a bigger share of a small sale.

On Creator Plus, yes, once you sell enough. The same $20 sale costs $0.88 there, all of it Stripe, so each sale is $1.62 cheaper than on Stakk. That covers the $30 subscription at about nineteen $20 sales a month, and past that point Creator Plus is the cheaper way to sell. Creator Max at $100 needs roughly three times as many sales to do the same.

Neither answer includes PayPal, where Beacons' processing is higher. On payouts the two are closer than the fees: Beacons pays PayPal sales out daily and runs card sales through the Stripe account you link, and Stakk charges straight into your own Stripe account.

When is Beacons the right choice and Stakk the wrong choice?

When you want the page as well as the checkout. Beacons is a link-in-bio page, a website builder, a media kit, email marketing, memberships and courses in one product. Stakk has no link-in-bio page builder, no tips, no memberships, no subscriptions, no course hosting and no booking. It takes US dollars only, where Beacons lists more than 20 currencies, and it caps prices at $999. If any of that is what you need, Stakk is the wrong choice and Beacons is a good one.

On the per-sale rate alone, Stakk loses to two more. Whop takes 2.7% + $0.30 a card sale with no monthly plan, and Systeme.io charges no transaction fee on any plan, including its free one. What Stakk offers instead is the checkout shape: an order bump that rides the same charge as the product, so the order carries one fee rather than two, and a post-purchase upsell taken with one tap against the card on file, both on every account with nothing behind a tier. That layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed.

Want to pay per sale and nothing else?

If the monthly plan is the part of Beacons you would rather not think about, Stakk has one rate: 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included, no subscription, and no tier between you and the bump and the upsell. The money lands in your own Stripe account. You can keep your Beacons page and point its buy button here, the setup covered in which link in bio tools have a real checkout.
