What are Whop's fees?
Whop charges no monthly fee and takes 2.7% + $0.30 on each domestic card sale, with card processing included in that rate. International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion adds 1%. Optional add-ons for tax, billing and payment routing stack on top, reaching 6% + $0.30 with all three on, and moving money out of Whop to your bank has its own fee. Checked 30 September 2026.
The headline rate is real, and it is low. This page is the full list underneath it, taken from Whop's own fee documentation, so you can see which lines apply to you before your first withdrawal rather than after it.
What does Whop charge on a card sale?
2.7% + $0.30 per successful transaction on a domestic card, according to Whop's pricing page, which describes the plan as pay-as-you-go with no setup fees and no monthly costs. There is no Pro tier and no subscription of any kind. Businesses with high volume can ask Whop's sales team for custom rates.
Whop labels that 2.7% + $0.30 as card processing, so there is no separate Stripe fee sitting on top of it. Two surcharges can join it on the same sale: 1.5% when the buyer's card is international, and 1% when a currency conversion applies.
Other payment methods carry their own rates. ACH debit from a US bank account is 1.5%, capped at $5. Whop also lists EU bank transfers at 1% capped at 5 euros, SEPA debit at 1% + 0.30 euros, iDEAL at 1.5% + 0.80 euros and crypto at 1.5%, while wallets such as Cash App are charged at the card rate. Buyer financing through partners such as Klarna and Afterpay costs 15% of the sale, and you are paid upfront.
Which Whop fees are optional add-ons?
Four, and they are where the headline rate and the real rate come apart. Each one is off until you switch it on or use the feature, and each stacks on the base rate rather than replacing it. All of these are on Whop's fee documentation.
| Add-on | Rate | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Payment orchestration | 0.8% | When enabled. Routes payments across several payment providers |
| Billing | 0.5% | When enabled. Automated invoices, retries and lifecycle handling |
| Tax and remittance | 2% | When enabled and tax is collected on the sale |
| Affiliate processing | 1.25% | Per transaction, for paying an affiliate through Whop |
| Stakk, for comparison | 10% + $0.50, all in | Every sale. No add-ons exist to switch on |
Whop does the stacking sum itself on the same page: a domestic card sale with orchestration, billing and tax all on, and tax collected, costs 6% + $0.30. Add an international card and a currency conversion and it is 8.5% + $0.30.
None of these are hidden, and plenty of sellers will never switch most of them on. The tax line is the one to think about. It pays Whop to calculate, collect and handle tax on your sales. Whether that is worth 2% depends on where you and your buyers are, which is a question for an accountant rather than a fee page.
What does Whop charge to pay you out?
It depends how fast you want the money and where you want it to go. The sale lands in a Whop balance, and moving it out has a price list of its own.
- Next day ACH to a US bank: $2.50 per payout.
- Instant bank deposit (RTP): 4% + $1.00 per payout.
- Crypto: 5% + $1.00 per payout.
- Venmo, US recipients only: 5% + $1.00 per payout.
- Bank wire: $23.00 per payout.
- International local bank transfer: varies by country.
A payout fee is not a take rate. It comes off your money a second time, on the way out, because the sale was paid to Whop rather than into an account of yours. On a $100 withdrawal the gap between the slow route and the fast one is real: $2.50 by next day ACH, $5.00 by instant deposit.
This is the half of the pricing that rarely shows up in a comparison of headline rates. It is also the reason which platforms hold your money and which pay you directly is a separate question from which one charges less.
What does Whop charge for fraud checks and disputes?
Four flat fees, charged per event rather than as a percentage.
- 3D Secure card authentication: $0.03 per transaction.
- Radar fraud screening: $0.07 per transaction.
- Dispute: $15.00 when a chargeback or dispute occurs.
- Early dispute alert (RDR): $29.00 per alert.
Whop's page lists the first two per transaction without saying which transactions trigger them. If both apply to a sale, they add 10 cents to it.
The dispute fee is the one that bites on a cheap product. A $15 fee on a $20 sale that gets disputed takes three quarters of the sale price before you have answered the dispute. This is not unusual: Stripe charges the same $15 when a dispute is received on an account of your own. It is still worth knowing the number before you sell anything at a low price.
How much does Whop take from a $20 sale?
84 cents on a domestic card with no add-ons: 2.7% of $20 is 54 cents, plus the 30 cent fixed fee.
Our own arithmetic on Whop's published rates: 2.7% + $0.30 at the floor, 8.5% + $0.30 with the three add-ons, an international card and a conversion stacked. Payout fees come later, when you withdraw.
Stakk's 10% + $0.50, with card processing included, is $2.50 on that sale. Even with orchestration, billing and tax all on and an international buyer paying in another currency, Whop comes in under us. On price per card sale, Whop is cheaper than Stakk, and I am not going to dress that up.
What narrows the gap is the withdrawal. Whop's payout fee is charged per payout, not per sale, so how much it adds depends on how often you withdraw and how.
When is Whop the right choice and Stakk the wrong one?
When price per sale is the question you are asking. Whop is cheaper than Stakk on every card sale and charges nothing a month, and Systeme.io is cheaper again at 0%. Whop also does things Stakk does not: buyer financing, more than 100 payment methods and more than 135 currencies, where Stakk charges in US dollars only. If you need any of that, Stakk is the wrong choice and you should use Whop instead.
What separates us is not the rate but where the sale lands. Stakk runs on Stripe Connect Standard with direct charges, so the payment is created on a Stripe account you own, Stakk's cut comes off as it passes through, and there is no Stakk balance, no payout fee menu and nothing for us to hold. On top of that, every Stakk account ships an order bump and a post-purchase upsell with nothing behind a tier. The bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two, and the upsell is one tap against the card already on file. That layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed. How Whop's own checkout handles add-on offers is a separate question, covered in our look at Whop's order bumps.
Want the bump and the upsell on your own Stripe account?
Stakk ships an order bump and a post-purchase upsell on every account, with no monthly fee and nothing behind a tier. It is 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included, which is more than Whop, and the charge is created on a Stripe account that is yours, so Stripe pays your bank on the schedule you set and there is no withdrawal fee to pay us. The upsell is a second charge and takes the fee again. Our fee is not returned when you refund a buyer.
